The 29-year-old has agreed a deal until June 30, 2016, ending his seven-year stay in English football.

Details of the transfer fee have not been disclosed, but reports indicate the Turin club have paid an initial £10million, rising to £12million with add-ons.

"From now on, Carlos Tevez is a Juventus player," read a statement on juventus.com.

"The Argentine striker, who arrived in Turin in the afternoon, has reached an agreement with Juventus to sign a contract of employment until 30 June 2016."

Tevez met with Juventus officials this afternoon and was later pictured on the club's website holding the number 10 jersey made famous by iconic Juve striker Alessandro Del Piero.

The Juventus statement said Tevez had undergone the first stages of his medical today and would complete the examinations tomorrow ahead of his official presentation at Juventus Stadium, beginning at 10.30am UK time.

Tevez arrived at Milan's Malpensa airport from South America this afternoon and was mobbed by around 200 Juve fans ahead of his medical at the club's offices in Turin.

Speaking prior to Tevez signing, Juve director Giuseppe Marotta told La Repubblica Sport: "We are all really excited about this transfer, Tevez really is a major coup."

Reports in Italy suggest the former Manchester United and West Ham striker will sign a three-year contract worth £4.7million per season before bonuses - a deal which would make Tevez the Old Lady's best paid player.
