Pablo Zabaleta: Manchester City defender would be keen to play in Serie A one da

Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has revealed that he would be open to the idea of playing in Italy at some point in the future.

Zabaleta has established himself as a key player at Man City since his arrival from Espanyol in 2008, and was outstanding last season to earn a place in the PFA Team of the Year.

He has nevertheless admitted that he would be interested in one day plying his trade in Serie A, having followed the competition closely for a long time.

There are several clubs that Zabaleta admires, particularly Fiorentina but also Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan.

He told Sportitalia: "Serie A is a major championship in which I'd like to play one day.

"Which team do I like? Juventus, Inter and AC Milan are important clubs but I think Fiorentina are a very interesting team.

"I don't know why but I have always liked Fiorentina since (Gabriel) Batistuta played there."
