Didier Drogba: Scored for Ivory Coast in Austria

There were three penalties in Gabon as the Africans held Portugal to a 2-2 draw, with Levy Madinda firing the hosts ahead from the spot in the 33rd minute.

Portugal were back on level ground just two minutes later thanks to Pizzi's penalty, then Hugo Almeida put the visitors back in front after the break.

But Gabon were not finished and a Biyogo Pocko spot-kick in the 69th minute allowed them to take a surprise share of the spoils.

Didier Drogba got his name on the scoresheet a minute after coming off the bench as Ivory Coast triumphed 3-0 over Austria in Linz.

Drogba's 61st-minute strike was sandwiched by goals from Didier Ya Konan and substitute Lacina Traore.

The USA twice came from behind to hold Russia to a 2-2 draw, with Mix Diskerud scoring four minutes into stoppage time.

Debutant Fyodor Smolov put home side Russia 1-0 up in the ninth minute before Michael Bradley levelled with a spectacular volley in the 76th as the Americans improved after a disappointing first-half show.

Roman Shirokov restored Russia's advantage with an 84th-minute penalty and it seemed as if they would extend their winning streak to five games under Italian coach Fabio Capello, but Diskerud found the leveller late on.

Robert Cornthwaite scored a late winner on his Australia return as the Socceroos triumphed 2-1 in South Korea.

Cornthwaite, who plays his club football for South Korean side Chunnam Dragons, scrambled the ball home from close range with three minutes left on the clock after Nikita Rukavytsya levelled for Australia in the first half following Lee Dong-Gook's early strike for the hosts.

The defender was a late replacement in Holger Osieck's injury-hit side and made his first appearance for the national team three years after his only previous cap.

Elsewhere, China and New Zealand played out a 1-1 draw in their friendly at the Hongkou Stadium.

Zhao Peng opened the scoring for China in the 32nd minute before Chris Wood equalised for the All Whites one minute before the half time whistle.

Winner

Ukraine claimed a 1-0 victory over Bulgaria in Sofia, with Shakhtar Donetsk defender Olexander Kucher scoring the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute.

Kucher netted his second international goal for his country as the tall defender met Ruslan Rotan's corner with a firm header.

Switzerland snatched a 2-1 triumph over 10-man Tunisia as Xherdan Shaqiri grabbed a stoppage-time winner.

The Swiss had opened the scoring when Eren Derdiyok scored in the 39th minute but Hamdi Harbaoui pulled the hosts level after the break, before Rami Bedoui was sent off.

Liverpool's Luis Suarez continued his goalscoring form on the international stage as Uruguay beat Poland 3-1 in Gdansk, with highly-rated Napoli forward Edison Cavani also getting on the scoresheet.

Manchester United teenager Angelo Henriquez scored a late consolation goal for 10-man Chile on his international debut as they were beaten 3-1 at home to Serbia.

Aston Villa's Christian Benteke scored for Belgium in Romania but could not save them from a 2-1 defeat.

Nicklas Bendtner's opener for Denmark was cancelled out by Mevlut Erdinc just four minutes later as Turkey held the visitors to a 1-1 draw in Istanbul.

David Lafata scored an early brace as Czech Republic saw off Slovakia 3-0, with Borek Dockhal adding their third in the second half.

There were no goals in Georgia's visit of Egypt as the encounter ended in a 0-0 draw.

A goal-filled clash between Armenia and Lithuania ended 4-2 as the hosts secured victory.

Finland claimed a 3-0 success in Cyprus, with Teemu Pukki, Perparim Hetemaj and Toni Kolehmainen all getting on the scoresheet.

Bosnia-Herzegovina snatched a last-gasp 1-0 win in Algeria as Muamer Svraka netted a winner in stoppage time.

Havard Nielsen netted on his debut for Norway as they claimed a 2-0 victory in Hungary, with Mohammed Abdellaoue also scoring.

Double

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Nejc Pecnik scored a double for Slovenia but could not rescue them from a 3-2 defeat in Macedonia.

The United Arab Emirates saw off Estonia 2-1, with Ali Mabkhout finding the 70th-minute winner.

Jonathan Caruana scored in the 38th minute to hand Malta a 1-0 victory in Liechtenstein.

African champions Zambia won by the same scoreline in South Africa as Collins Mbesuma fired the visitors to success.

Iceland enjoyed a 2-0 win in Andorra as a goal in each half from Johan Berg Gudmundsson and Runar Mar Sigurjonsson sealed the triumph.

Belarus came from behind to triumph 2-1 in Israel as goals from Syarhey Kislyak and Syarhey Balanovich sealed the win.

m only commenting on this (I don't care about Liverpool) because F365's twitter said I had call Matt Stanger a tw*t (which I don't agree with anyway) but I just wanted to be the first. Am I the first?

S

unday, Sunday. Will there be a fan of either team, who if they are winning after 80 mins, won't still be nervous? This could be anything from 0-0 to 5-5, and no one would bat an eye.
