France will play Holland in a friendly on March 5, the French Football Federation has confirmed.

The venue for what will be the 22nd meeting between the two countries has yet to be confirmed.

Les Bleus last met Holland in the group stages of Euro 2008, when the Dutch ran out comfortable 4-1 winners in Bern.

Both teams will hope the contest will comprise part of their preparations for next year's World Cup, which gets under way in Brazil on June 12.

The Dutch are close to securing their berth for the finals as they lead their qualifying group by seven points with four matches remaining, but for France the situation is less secure.

Didier Deschamps' men trail reigning world champions Spain by a point with three matches left and may have to be content with a place in the play-offs.
