Watt joined the U's on a three-month loan agreement from Arsenal last season but saw his stay cut short after just five weeks having torn his hamstring, netting two goals and providing three assists during his seven appearances.

Colchester boss Joe Dunne was a big admirer of the 22-year-old and, following his release by the Gunners this summer, has fought off plenty of competition to bring him back to the Weston Homes Community Stadium on a permanent deal.

Watt follows in the footsteps of former Arsenal team-mate Craig Eastmond, who also spent time on loan at Colchester last term and opted to join the U's on a two-year deal earlier this summer.

t's why Mourinho is so successful. He gives players a specific, limited set of functions to perform. They are but a cog in a machine. Do no more, do no less. I assume he learnt it from LvG :)

really hope that someone in the mainstream media spots that the Bayern manager played for and managed Barcelona quite well, and thinks to mention it in the build up. That would be really interesting.
