The highly-rated 21-year-old, who has made four appearances at senior international level for Serbia, had been linked with a number of other clubs.

Juventus, AC Milan and Napoli were all reportedly monitoring the defender, while Mancehster City were also credited with an interest.

But it is Torino who have won the chase for his signature and Maksimovic has now linked up with his new team-mates at their summer training camp.

Maksimovic's arrival will help Torino fill the void created by Angelo Ogbonna's switch to Juventus.
