Manchester City playmaker Denis Suarez has returned to Spain after agreeing terms with Barcelona.

Suarez was signed from Celta Vigo in May 2011, but only made two appearances for the Citizens during his time at the club.

The 19-year-old made was a regular for City's elite development squad and made his first-team debut when he came off the bench in a League Cup victory over Wolves in October 2011.

His only other appearance for City was in the 4-2 defeat to Aston Villa in the same competition last season.

Suarez expected to join up with Eusebio Sacristan's Barcelona B selection for their 2013/14 Segunda Division campaign.
