The full-back had been expected to prolong his stay at Bloomfield Road until the end of the season.

However, despite impressing during his month-long spell, the Seasiders' boss Barry Ferguson decided his squad has enough to cope without the 29-year-old.

"He came here and did a very good job for us," Ferguson told the Blackpool Gazette.

"I needed an extra body in defence at the time, but after a long, hard think about it I think we have enough cover.

"With the system we are playing I think we have enough to cope."

Blackpool face a vital clash with Yeovil on Saturday, and Ferguson knows his side need points to ease any fears of the dreaded drop.

"The gap isn't big enough between us and the relegation zone," Ferguson added.

"We need to go out there and win games."
