Freeman's initial one-month stay with the Blades, who are managed by former Rams boss Nigel Clough, was extended on Monday.

The 22-year-old full-back has made six starts and one substitute appearance to date for the Sky Bet League 1 club.

He played seven times for Derby this season in all competitions, the last of which came in mid-September against Leicester in the Capital One Cup third round, and had a loan spell with Notts County prior to his move to Bramall Lane.

In total Freeman has made 27 appearances since joining the Rams from local rivals Nottingham Forest at the beginning of last season.
