Bent is 5/1 with BetVictor to join Liverpool at the turn of the year after he was left out of the Aston Villa squad by manager Paul Lambert for the home win against Reading on Tuesday night.

BetVictor also make Pep Guardiola 6/4 to finish his self-imposed footballing exile by returning to Chelsea for his next position.

Spokesperson Charlie McCann: "Bent looks sure to leave Villa Park given he doesn't appear to fit into the long term plans of Paul Lambert and his opportunities look limited with the 21-year-old Belgian international Christian Benteke first choice.

"Liverpool badly need a proven goalscorer to take the weight off the shoulders of Luis Suarez and Bent has previously been linked with the Reds.

"Villa are likely to want to cash in on one of their most saleable assets but is Bent the sort of player that fits the eye of Brendan Rodgers? We're not convinced.

"We bet 6/4 that Pep Guardiola chooses Chelsea after his year-long sabbatical with Manchester United 3s, City 4s and Arsenal 5/1".
