Torres has constantly struggled for form in his two years at Stamford Bridge but has won the Champions League, FA Cup and European Championship in that time.

The £50million man, who has scored just 19 goals in 90 appearances, has been linked with a move away from the European champions.

But asked whether he felt vindicated over his decision to quit Liverpool in January 2011, Torres told FIFA.com: "One of the main reasons to come to Chelsea was that they are always aiming for trophies. I needed to win trophies because they are what you have after you have finished.

"In my first full season, we won the FA Cup and Champions League. What more can you ask? We have a chance now to win the FIFA Club World Cup.

"I have four more years on my contract so hopefully I can win many more things - the Premier League would be amazing. The Capital One Cup and the Community Shield also."

Didier Drogba's departure in the summer has meant Torres becoming Chelsea's first-choice striker, the 28-year-old starting almost every game this season.

He said: "I'm very happy about that because it's the role I like. Hopefully, it can be like this until the end of the season."

Torres has failed to score in the Premier League for almost two months, a drought that has co-incided almost exactly with Chelsea's seven-match winless run, their worst for 15 years.

Torres added: "We still have to improve other things as a team but I think we have the players. We just need more time.

"We have been very good defensively this season. But, in the middle, we have huge quality and those players have to be the key."

The Club World Cup kicks off this week, with Chelsea travelling on Japan for the tournament on Saturday night.

Torres said: "We will hopefully arrive there with enough time to adapt and be focused to win this tournament and take it seriously, as we should.

"I think it's one of the main targets we should have this season."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

afa has to be favourite for the Everton job now, surely :) He'll realise his ambition to live and work on Merseyside again, get the best out of whoever plays for them, maybe win some cups and be thoroughly loathed by the toffee fans. What's not to like? Go ead, Ken, gimajob!

hat is arguably the least inspiring England I have ever seen. There is not a single name in that list that makes me think I might actually want to watch this team. Not a one.
