Schlupp has been allowed to link up with United for a training stint by Leicester as Sir Alex Ferguson's coaching staff want to cast an eye over the 20-year-old.

The Ghana international has come through the Leicester academy and was handed his first-team debut by former Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.

Schlupp, who is primarily an attacking player, is a versatile performer having also played at left-back in his career.

It is believed United have taken him on trial to view his capabilities at left-back as they are short of options in the full-back positions.

Schlupp is under contract until 2015 at the King Power Stadium, but if he impresses during his stint at United he could win a move to Old Trafford.
