The former England captain has linked up with Carlo Ancelotti's side until the end of the season as they look to win their first championship since the 1993-94 season.

PSG currently lead the standings, three points ahead of Lyon and five ahead of Sunday's opponents despite losing 3-2 to Sochaux last week.

That setback has increased the pressure on Ancelotti's men, and Beckham - who has not played a competitive match since winning the MLS Cup with Los Angeles Galaxy in early December - cannot wait for the Clasico.

"I played a lot of big games in my career, such as duels between AC Milan and Inter, Real Madrid and Barcelona, or the Galaxy and Chivas," he told the club's official website. "I think it's very exciting to discover a new very special game."

Thiago Motta, Mamadou Sakho and Thiago Silva are still absent, but Lucas Moura and Alex have all been included in the squad.

Marseille head into the game off the back of a 1-0 win over Valenciennes, thanks to Rod Fanni's last-gasp strike.

The matchwinner is confident his side can make it two wins in a row and has no doubt his team-mates will step up in such an important game.

"It puts us under a little more pressure and it is a challenge," he said on the official Marseille website. "Even supporters of both camps, it puts more excitement. This is a good thing. PSG are not untouchable.

"We have seen last weekend they have flaws and may lose. But they have a lot of very good players and have played a lot of very good matches, including Valencia.

"We must respect that, but they do not overwhelm the championship as it may be the case in Germany with Bayern currently. They are not beaten or even unplayable, even "
