I know I'm just taking the p##s. I know its a strong last 8 in Champs League after Bayern getting through last night & that's the only consolation with us going out is that I don't think we would have won it with teams that are left. Will be interesting to see who Real get now. I had thought that with Barca losing 2 0 that this would be an great opportunity missed by United to win it but with them through I think if they play to their best they will win it. Bayern didn't look great last night but I think you will see a different bayern team in quarters, Dortmund are a strong side as well. Juve too. Plus Malaga have been the surprise package this year with Gala. Then PSG too who have spent a lot of money on players they're good side but it all depends on who they get if they get one of the top teams I think they will be gone.

Most footballers dream of playing in Wembley for FA Cup, or winning the League or Champions league, World Cup etc but Liverpool players dream of finishing 4th.

At this point, I hope that this is just the liverpool players taking turns to troll everyone else. Sigh.....

exactly harkers and pa__ul, he most likely answered a question with a "yes, sure it is" response. Why would you not push for 4th place anyway, it is a goal to strive for. It is not, and has not been the main focus of the season. But for some, it has been a goal. And why not have that ambition? I think it is more sad to have no ambition than to strive for mediocrity, or nothing.

@kopabhi, I just hope you can understand my pessimism after good runs of form followed by defeats to West Brom, Villa, etc. Best of luck to the lads on Saturday. YNWA!

A seven point swing over 9 games is more than possible - so he's right to be optimistic. You have to remember that players are interviewed on a near daily basis about previous matches and asked questions to provoke a response worthy of publishing. As a Liverpool fan, you should be getting behind the players instead of slagging them off. Liverpool are improving, will they finish 4th? I don't know, but I'd rather the players gave it everything than nod off for the last 9 games and start thinking about next season

lads, take a load off, he's talking to the media like they all do, do you really think he cares if, now that he's said that, some people on a football comments page are going to give Liverpool fans a bit of stick? If the players believe there's something to fight for then they'll be more inclined to give it their all. I'd rather hear that than 'OK, let's admit defeat and just get these last few games out the way'.

@skipper Gerrard, dont you take any time off from your work , n do something else than regular work or you always keep on doing for hwat you are hired for ?.... Stop being so critical he never said we will be fighting for Club world cup next season he is being practical and reasonable ...... Its indeed a dream but difficult one to acheive lets c If we can achieve that or not

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
