Bayern players celebrate with the trophy

Bayern are the champions of Europe for the fifth time in their history - they beat Dortmund 2-1 at Wembley thanks to a late Arjen Robben goal.

After a goalless first half, Mario Mandzukic put Bayern ahead only for Dante to bundle over Marco Reus in the box and allow Ilkay Gundogan to equalise from the penalty spot.

The Italian referee Nicola Rizzoli failed to send off Dante when he was already on a booking - that proved to be a crucial decision.

We covered the big occasion here from our Leeds office - the blog has now closed but you can still check out pictures, videos, audio clips etc right here.

I

think all those names linked to United exits make sense. Kagawa has never really looked like hitting the form he had at Dortmund and Fellaini is radioactive after last season (even though I think he's been unfairly singled out for criticism). Nani and Anderson have had more than their fair share of chances so they are done, and Hernandez deserves better than warming a bench.
