Bristol City became the first English side to install a 'safe-standing' section this week and a number of clubs have expressed an interest.

Aston Villa were one of those to openly admit they would happily trial the idea, and they had even suggested up to half the Premier League were keen.

However, Scudamore disagrees and does not see standing coming back to the top flight.

"There is no constitutional majority of Premier League clubs that want to revisit the idea of not having all-seater stadiums," Scudamore told the Daily Telegraph.

"We don't sense that the Government, the most important people in all this, have any appetite at our level to go back on the all-seater legislation.

"We haven't discussed it around our table. Have I discussed it unilaterally with individual clubs? Yes. It is a difficult issue.

"I am a huge supporter and sympathiser with the Hillsborough families' position. Even if it (standing) was deemed desirable, as we approach the 25th anniversary of Hillsborough and the families feel so strongly about it, is it really appropriate?''

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
