Kaka: Linked with Galatasaray move

Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim is unsure whether the club has made an approach for Kaka after admitting his interest in the Real Madrid midfielder at the weekend.

Following Saturday's 3-1 win at Sivasspor, Terim revealed he had told Gala president Unal Aysal that Kaka was his preferred target ahead of next month's transfer window.

Aysal has since stated he would attempt to sign the Brazilian, who has been linked with a move away from Madrid after finding himself on the outer this season.

Los Angeles Galaxy have been mooted as a possible destination, as they look to cover the departure of David Beckham, although their boss Bruce Arena this week refused to discuss the possibility of the move.

Terim was similarly coy in quotes attributed to him on Spanish website AS, saying: "If there is contact with the player only the president knows. I know nothing about it."

Terim was more forthright after the weekend win, which kept Gala top of the Turkish Super Lig, when speaking to local reporters.

"The president asked me if I wanted to sign Diego Ribas or (Wesley) Sneijder," he said.

"I told him I wanted Kaka."

Aysal's response was to confirm he would look to bring in a player next month.

"My colleagues and I are working with all our powers to fulfil his desires," Aysal said.

"Terim said he needed a player so we must sign someone in January. We will do it as Terim is very important for us and we want him to be happy.

"Now all it needs is that the club are willing to sell us the player."

Reports in Spain have suggested Kaka is open to a move to Istanbul, after starting just four games this season, but Aysal hinted his arrival could be problematic.

The president has previously stated he would like to bring in a player to boost Gala's squad ahead of the knockout stage of the Champions League.

However, Kaka would be unavailable after appearing for Madrid in the competition.

"Kaka is happy at Madrid and could not play in the Champions if he comes," he said.

"Despite these obstacles we will see what happens."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
