Amorebieta is a target for a number of the Premier League clubs

A host of the Premier League big guns are reportedly tracking Athletic Bilbao defender Fernando Amorebieta.

Amorebieta seems set to leave Bilbao at the end of the season with the club recently withdrawing their offer of a new contract after failing to agree a new deal with the 27-year-old.

The news has alerted clubs all across Europe to Amorebieta's availability on a free transfer in the summer.

The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, AC Milan and Barcelona have all been credited with an interest in Amorebieta in the past and they are all thought to be keeping tabs on his situation at San Mames.

Amorebieta has made over 250 appearances for Bilbao during his time at the club and he is regarded as one of the best central defenders in the Primera Liga.

The Venezuela international caught the eye during Bilbao's march to the Europa League final last term, where they beat Manchester United on route to the final and he is bound to be one of the most sought-after Bosman signings in the summer when he sees out his contract at Bilbao.
