Barcelona striker David Villa has left hospital after undergoing treatment on kidney stones, the Primera Division leaders have confirmed.

The 31-year-old, who was admitted to hospital on Monday, will return to training on Wednesday but it is not yet known if he will be able to feature in Saturday's match with Granada.

A Barcelona statement read: "Villa has undergone the appropriate treatment to remove the kidney stones and has already been discharged from hospital.

"Villa will be reincorporated into training from this Wednesday and his recovery will decide his availability for the next match."

The Spain international scored in Sunday's 6-1 rout of Getafe, a result which - combined with Atletico Madrid's surprise defeat against Rayo Vallecano - sent Barca 12 points clear at the top of the table.
