Ramallets played 473 games for Barca between 1946 and 1961 and won six Primera Division titles, five Spanish Cups and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups during his time with the club.
He was also a five-time winner of the Zamora trophy, awarded to the goalkeeper with the lowest goals-to-games ratio in La Liga at the end of the season.
Ramallets was also part of the Spain squad that finished fourth at the 1950 World Cup before going on to coach a number of club sides, including Real Valladolid and Real Zaragoza.
"Barcelona are in mourning," read a statement on the club's official website. "Antoni Ramallets Simon, one of the best goalkeepers in Barca's history and in world football, has left us. Ramallets wore the Azulgrana shirt on 473 occasions between 1946 and 1961 and will always be one of the great legends in the history of our club.
"Known among other nicknames as 'the Winged Cat', in his time everyone considered him as the best in Europe, maybe only second to the Soviet Lev Yashin.''
There was a minute's silence in memory of Ramallets before Tuesday night#s friendly between Barca and Lechia Gdansk in Poland.
