The 28-year-old former Bournemouth midfielder impressed in Crawley's pre-season friendly against Woking last week.

Cooper started his career at Portsmouth where he came through the youth ranks, making his debut in 2002.

He struggled to hold down a place in the Pompey first team, however, and had spells at Leyton Orient and Kidderminster before joining Bournemouth in 2005.
