Gus Poyet: Wants a striker in the January transfer window

David Lopez's penalty cancelled out Troy Deeney's opener for Watford, but two goals inside two minutes from striker Matej Vydra ensured the Hornets went away with all three points from the Amex Stadium.

On his striker hunt, Poyet said: "We are closer now.

"We are looking everywhere but it's not easy at this time of year. The problem

is the market is not right."

On the game he added: "It was a typical game in that when you are on top, you need to score.

"We failed to take advantage and then it was too open. We tried to address it at half-time but then they scored.

"We were lucky to get back at 1-1 but it was the turning point. We were not the better team.

"The second goal killed us off as Watford responded to the impact of us equalising. We didn't adapt very well and defensively we didn't adapt well.

"Watford's two strikers were much better, as were their centre-halves. Inside the box we were second best. It was not a good day."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

afa has to be favourite for the Everton job now, surely :) He'll realise his ambition to live and work on Merseyside again, get the best out of whoever plays for them, maybe win some cups and be thoroughly loathed by the toffee fans. What's not to like? Go ead, Ken, gimajob!
