Jay Tabb: Reading midfielder has been told he can leave

Tabb has made over 100 appearances for Reading since moving to the Madejski Stadium from Coventry City four years ago.

The 28-year-old was part of the squad which won the Championship title last season and he has started 12 games in the Premier League this term.

However, he has been an unused substitute for Reading's last three leagues fixtures before he was restored to the starting line-up for last weekend's FA Cup tie with Crawley Town.

With Brian McDermott having already increased his midfield options this month with the acquisitions of Hope Akpan and Daniel Carrico, the Reading boss has informed Tabb he can move on.
