Gary Harkins: Was reported to be heading out on loan

It was reported that the midfielder was due to link up with Dundee on loan after suffering a falling out with his boss.

Harkins' absence during a 3-2 defeat to Dundee United on Saturday only served to fan the transfer flames.

Shiels, though, insists there is no issue between manager and player and has attempted to bring an end to the constant rumours regarding Harkins' future.

He said: "Gary could play against Dundee next week.

"I don't know why you keep asking about him.

"He's not leaving, he's one of the best players in the SPL.

"There are other people, Lee Johnson's not in the team. Why is it always Harkins you guys bring up?"
