Keith Hill: Left Rochdale in 2011 before a spell in charge of Barnsley
The League Two club decided to part company with Coleman earlier on Monday after starting 2013 with three defeats.
Speculation had suggested Hill could have been set to go back to Rochdale as a replacement after initially leaving in 2011 for a brief spell at Barnsley.
But he has told Sky Sports: "I can confirm I will not be applying for the Rochdale job.
"I loved my time at Spotland but I cannot consider the role at this time."
