Andrea Pirlo: Believes Juventus are ready for Celtic challenge

The Hoops are the surprise package in the last 16 of Europe's premier competition, but thoroughly deserve to be mixing it with the best sides on the continent after stunning Barcelona during the group stage.

A two-legged tie with Italian giants Juve awaits Neil Lennon's side, with the Celtic camp determined to keep their fairytale run going.

Pirlo, though, has warned that the Italian outfit will be no pushovers, with Juve capable of outplaying opponents or overpowering them.

The veteran midfielder said: "We are prepared for whatever Celtic have to offer.

"We saw that they beat Barcelona in Glasgow, but we are prepared to adapt maybe more than Barcelona did.

"We know Barcelona play fantastic football, but Celtic frustrated them. Whatever way Celtic want to play, we are ready for them.

"If they want to play football, we'll play football. But if they want to battle, we are ready to go to battle."

Italy international Pirlo added: "I know that Celtic Park will be like a gladiator arena, but we're ready.

"We have players who have won the World Cup and Champions League, so we are used to intimidating games.

"I'm sure the noise from the Celtic fans will be crazy, but that will only make us more determined to go into battle."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.
