Chesterfield have confirmed captain Sam Hird is set to serve a two-match suspension.

Sam Hird: Suspended for Spireites

Hird received his 10th yellow card of the season against Rotherham on Saturday when he brought down Millers striker Daniel Nardiello on the edge of the penalty area.

The 25-year-old defender will now miss the forthcoming home games against Gillingham on Saturday and Aldershot next Tuesday.

Midfielder Sam Togwell has been given the armband when Hird has been unavailable in previous matches.
