Jose Baxter: Poised for Goodison return

Baxter joined Latics on a free transfer in the summer after rejecting a new contract at Goodison Park and the 21-year-old boyhood Liverpool fan, who remains the Toffee's youngster ever senior appearance maker, is primed for the latest poignant encounter in a sensational cup run.

"He probably wants 150 tickets," Philliskirk said.

"He's been superb for us having left Everton in the summer.

"It will be a fantastic occasion for Jose, playing against players he was training with last season.

"It's dream stuff you probably couldn't have wished for. If you'd have said you're going to come here and play Liverpool, then you're going to beat them and play Everton then you'd think you were stupid.

"Anybody would think you're stupid, it's Boys Own stuff.

"I don't think he's got a point to prove really, he'll just want to go there and do well - as will every other player."
