Defoe: Spurs are the better bet

Jermain Defoe is so sure Tottenham will finish above Arsenal that he is willing to enter into another charity bet with Jack Wilshere.

gunner14 - are you seriously clinging onto something that happened over 10 years ago? Nothing like living in the past eh? As for the bet, its a bit of harmless fun for charity, obviously there are some collective knickers being twisted which is of course amusing

Let's see who's laughing when Spurs lose to Chelsea, City, Liverpool and draw with Everton and Swansea.

We wont finish above Tottenham this season, so I would not bet on it this year. I am hoping a more likely outcome is a Benitez inspired Chelsea meltdown. Keep terry on the bench for another few games and he will start a mutiny no doubt. I would be willing to bet on 1.Man u, 2. Man City, 3. Spurs, 4. Arsenal.

FFS gooners calm down, relax. You sound like scousers. Two lads having a friendly bet and banter in a good cause. Good luck to them, they should ask fans to contribute and make the eventual anount a decent sum. I'd be in for a pony.

Wow, Defoe must really love donating to charity :P that aside, neither club is a joke. They are two clubs who are regularly enlisted in European fixtures, who both have some top class players, and provide more entertainment than most premier league teams (let's face it, life is never dull as an Arsenal fan). As for us being a joke for having a high wage bill, have you tried selling players like Squillaci, Denilson, Bendtner etc. to teams when they have ridiculously high wage demands? Yes, I know, we should never have given them it in the first place but I am sure spurs have had plenty flop players too .... Spurs do deserve to be where they are now, exploited our defence very cleverly last Sunday, but you only have to look at the results when we win compared to when they do to see that our results are always more comfortable. We have a much easier run-in of games, so respect to those cautious fans. I genuinely hope we both shaft Chelsea to the CL spots, with us finishing third of course.

Chaps....jeez, it's le or la....lets be magnanimous and face it, they were and are better and that's life. I'm not throwing in the towel, it's life and you need to be honest and congratulate them where we are and have failed.....We'll be back, better and stringer (how I'm not entirely sure though) but we will...but they do deserve to be where they are, and we deserve to be where we are. Let's focus on improving ourselves not belittling their achievements.

gooner14 - Yeah Sol said he was staying and then left. How is that a reflection of the club that a guy lied to us for his own benefit? Yes, one of our best players did try to force his way to Chelsea, at least according to the media, but if I remember rightly it didn't work as we got him to sign an extension the year before so we didn't have to sell. He then went on to have a good season before going to one of the biggest teams in the world for a club record fee. That's called good business. If you want to talk about players leaving and winning things, I believe the statistic is that in the 8 years that Arsenal have won nothing, the players that have left have won a combined total of 53 trophies. Nice work. I understand that times are hard for you guys at the moment, but if you're honestly going to try to compare the current situations with our teams and say that we're the joke then I fear you're quite delusional. I know plenty Arsenal fans who are utterly disgusted with how your club is being run.

I really don't get Arsenal fans who crack the DVD line every time we beat them - it's a.) pretty old and b.) highlights the fact that we actually celebrate the entertainment value of our club (alien concept in the quietest PL stadium I know). Do you think we'd have released a DVD if we'd won that game 1-0? We didn't release a DVD of the 3-2, the 1-0 or the 2-1 victories so the idea that the 4-4 DVD in any way celebrates the result is somewhere between misguided and stupid. I'm surprised Arsenal haven't cashed in on either of the 5-2s. They'll be collector's items soon.

They had the same bet on last season too, whats the problem? Arse fans are just going to jump on anything they can now aren't they. I like it keep it up boys! People wonder where we get some of our money from, its by selling us mug fans dvds of exciting games! Clever by Levy ;) Small club blah blah boring heard it all before, trust me if your lot end up being worse than spurs for the next 15 years then you'll know what it feels like and will celebrate any small victory over the gloating b**tards that have rubbed it in your noses that whole time.
