The midfielder, 32, has returned to Parkinson's starting line-up in recent weeks and was pivotal as the Bantams secured their first victory in five league games before being forced off with a shin injury.

"Ricky Ravenhill set the tone and his was as good a midfield display as we have had for a long time," said Parkinson, whose side have closed to within seven points of the play-offs.

"He played the division and showed what is required, but unfortunately he had to come off with a swollen shin after a tackle and is going for an X-ray. That is a blow for him and for us."

Parkinson was also pleased with the performance of left-back James Meredith, back in the starting line-up after a two-and-a-half-month lay-off due to glandular fever.

"It was an amazing performance for someone who has been out for so long," Parkinson added.

"I was also pleased for our winger Kyel Reid. He has got his confidence back, and I thought Garry Thompson was excellent.

"We played well all over the pitch and put in a very strong performance and we had to do because Wycombe are a very good side.

"The difference to other home games was that we got a goal when we had a period of pressure and we should have possibly have got a second goal, but I felt confident because we were showing resilience and we deserved our victory."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
