Nigel Worthington: Up for a relegation scrap

The former Northern Ireland boss, who steered Norwich to the Premier League in 2004, has seven games left to save the Minstermen from an instant return to the Blue Square Bet Premier.

York, who dropped into the bottom two in midweek, go in search of their first win in 15 games at relegation rivals Torquay on Saturday and the pressure is mounting on Worthington, who has yet to secure his first win since taking charge earlier this month.

"It's been like that from the outset," Worthington said. "Nothing has surprised me since I've been here at all.

"In football, whether it's with Northern Ireland, in the Premier League with Norwich, York or where ever, if you're a football person you adapt to the situation and deal with it as best as you can.

"I'm thoroughly enjoying working at this football club and with the players.

"We can't look to other teams to help us out, we've got to look after ourselves.

"It's all about performing in matches and getting results and if we can start doing that we'll be okay."

Worthington has drafted in Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Arron Jameson, Ipswich midfielder Josh Carson and Sheffield United striker Richard Cresswell on loan and hopes to bring in some more players before next week's loan transfer deadline.

"We're trying to introduce one or two more higher league players to help us, but everything is still to play for," he added.

m only commenting on this (I don't care about Liverpool) because F365's twitter said I had call Matt Stanger a tw*t (which I don't agree with anyway) but I just wanted to be the first. Am I the first?

unday, Sunday. Will there be a fan of either team, who if they are winning after 80 mins, won't still be nervous? This could be anything from 0-0 to 5-5, and no one would bat an eye.
