John Ruddy: Keen to return to action

Ruddy tore his thigh in the 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park back in November, with the muscle coming away from the bone and leaving him with no option but to undergo surgery.

The England international will be back on the training field with his team-mates on Thursday and is itching to get back into the first-team picture.

Canaries boss Chris Hughton turned to Mark Bunn in Ruddy's absence, but his red card in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland means Lee Camp will start the forthcoming clash at Wigan.

Ruddy told Sky Sports News: "It has gone really well, there have been no problems so far. I start full training on Thursday, which I am very much looking forward to.

"It has been really frustrating for the last four-and-a-half months so it is going to be nice to be out on the fields with the lads again. I am very much looking forward to it and I can't wait to be back in action.

"I'm back in training on Thursday, I'll play a couple of games for the U21s to make sure I'm match sharp and then it is down to the manager.

"I really want to get back, I have worked very hard. My physio at the club - Stuart Wardle - has been fantastic with me. He has really pushed me to get back as quickly as I have.

"It is fairly quick for a goalkeeper to be back from this type of injury. With the amount of kicks and the distance I am kicking every game, that is the main aspect we have been focusing on.

"I am eager to get back and hopefully that will be in a few weeks."
