Greg Abbott: Very pleased with his side's performance

Goals from Steve Cook, Harry Arter and Brett Pitman were enough for Bournemouth to see off Carlisle and secure a club record eighth successive win.

Former Brighton defender Cook opened the scoring in the 26th minute after heading in a Simon Francis cross only to see Lee Miller equalise just after half-time with an acrobatic overhead kick.

Arter responded five minutes later, rifling home a left-footed drive past stranded Carlisle goalkeeper Mark Gillespie to nudge Bournemouth back in front.

Cherries top-scorer Pitman started the party in injury time when he netted in his eighth successive game to settle the contest.

Abbott said: "I thought we played well, but it was Bournemouth's day.

"I think we have to be very pleased with our performance.

"We played well and we created some excellent chances. If one of those had gone in then it might have been a different story.

"The goals we conceded were sloppy, and that's been a problem for us this season, but the signs are there that we are getting back to the levels we want.

"Itwas about playing the atmosphere and the fact that Bournemouth were chasing automatic promotion and I thought we did that very well."

I

expect Pulis to have a nice Christmas dinner with his family- probably all sitting around the table wearing Christmas themed baseball caps, before he gets the call. Realistically he could end up at any number of clubs, it'll be interesting to see which club folds first.

s a Liverpool fan, I personally hate Palace. My pick would probably be Arsenal, which is funny because it seems the vast majority of their own fans don't even like them right now.
