The 21-year-old has been watched by a number of Premier League clubs in recent months, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton all thought to be keeping tabs on the Dutch international.

Reports from Merseyside this week claimed that Everton were in pole position to land de Vrij.

However, Feyenoord have insisted that they have not heard from Everton or any other club with regards de Vrij, who is widely anticipated to be sold by the Rotterdam giants this summer.

"No club, including Everton, has made an approach for Stefan," Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel told Algemeen Dagblad.
