Alan Knill: Disappointed not to finish the season with a win

Elliot Benyon grabbed two goals either side of Ryan Jarvis' header and the Southend loanee thought he had earned Knill's men all three points only for Matt Harrold to grab a late leveller for Bristol Rovers in 3-3 draw at Plainmoor.

Knill said: "The most important thing is that these players will be playing in League Two next season.

"I had hoped we could finish with all three points and a 3-2 win so that we ended the season with three wins in a row. It wasn't to be but at least we ended with three unbeaten.

"I think they are (Football) League players. We just lacked a little bit of belief when I came in but slowly and surely we have got that belief back.

"I have got to say it was a great game for the neutral but awful for the manager but we got the point that we wanted.

"I think we are all disappointed we did not get three points though because we all wanted to finish on three wins.

"Usually at this times of the season my teams have been really strong and I thankfully Torquay have been strong.

"I have enjoyed every minute of it here and a big thank you to the players, directors and supporters and I look forward to seeing them in League Two next season.

"My remit was simply 'can you keep us in League Two?' and I said yes. I was confident I could. I have done what I was asked to do when I came here. That is my part of the job done."
