Steve Kean: Resigned from Blackburn Rovers after a turbulent spell

Kean resigned after a turbulent spell of nearly two years in charge at Ewood Park in September 2012 when he felt his position became 'untenable'.

Much of the Scot's tenure at the Lancashire club was dogged by protests from Blackburn fans unhappy with the team's performances and the ownership of the club by the Venky family.

Kean was installed as Blackburn manager following the sacking of Sam Allardyce, but after staving off relegation in his first season in charge he could not prevent the drop in 2011/12.

However Kean, 45, is now looking to resurrect a coaching career that took in spells with Reading, Fulham, Real Sociedad and Coventry City prior to Blackburn.

"I'm ready," Kean told the Sunday Mail. "I've worked at every level at different clubs - from kids at Reading to reserve team at Fulham under Jean Tigana and assistant to Chris Coleman and first-team coach under Sam Allardyce.

"I'll consider every offer. I love coaching but over the last two years or so I have been given a real insight into how to run a club from the financial side in terms of budgets and different restraints.

"I was fortunate at a young age to play in Portugal and learn languages. I got exposure to a different perspective on football.

"I'd consider going abroad again, it would give me something to get my teeth into."
