With just 10 seconds of the second half gone sub Constable turned on the edge of the area and powered in a shot beyond the full-stretch dive of Joe Murphy.

But the U's were dealt a big blow in the 70th minute when an innocuous challenge left Jonathan Meades writhing on the ground before being stretchered from the field.

Coventry twice went close through Franck Moussa but could not find an equaliser.
