Alex, who host the Millers in the opening weekend of League One on Saturday, are preparing for the second year in the third tier after winning promotion from League Two in2011/12.

It was the Millers' turn for success last term as they won their final five games to charge into the automatic promotion spots and Evans is looking to Saturday's opponents.

"They are a great opposition in my opinion, Steve Davis has done a wonderful job," he said.

"They are young and they have got high energy. They are a fantastic club, I can't speak highly enough of Dario Gradi and the staff there.

"They are a role model for us in how they have established themselves."
