James Hanson: Battling a hand injury

Hanson played with his left hand in a bandage against Port Vale on Saturday and looked inhibited by the problem, which he suffered in training the day before the Sky Bet League One fixture.

The striker is expected to see the specialist on Monday and undergo a scan to find out if there is a broken bone.

"We only had five minutes of open free play on Friday but in that time he fell awkwardly and cracked his hand," said Bantams boss Phil Parkinson following his side's 2-1 defeat at Vale Park.

"I think it did (affect him). We'll get it X-rayed and I just hope it's not too serious."

Hanson is a vital part of Parkinson's plans as with Andy Gray still to resume full training after breaking his arm, there is no obvious cover as a targetman.
