The Tuscan club feared the 22-year-old Egypt international had aggravated an existing anterior cruciate ligament injury during his country's friendly victory over Uganda on August 14.

But a statement published on Fiorentina's official website ruled out significant damage to Hegazy's knee while confirming the centre-back will now be subjected to two weeks of controlled physiotherapy - ruling him out of Monday's game against Catania and a trip to Genoa on September 1.
