Reports have suggested that the Rams' loan deal for the Liverpool defender is part of a deal that will see the £15million-rated midfielder head to Anfield in January.
Wisdom moved to Pride Park on a season-long loan last week, but chief executive Sam Rush is insistent that it is pure coincidence.
"The Andre Wisdom deal was very much as a result of Liverpool's desire for him to come to Derby and further his football education," he told the Derby Telegraph.
"Andre was the top of Steve McClaren's list of people he wanted to bring in to strengthen the squad. So no, there is no connection with Will Hughes at all."
Derby were forced to bring in defensive cover after an injury to Zak Whitbread, but despite a deal being done with one of Will Hughes reported suitors, Rush remains adamant they see the England Under 21 international's immediate future at Pride Park.
He continued: "There has been no further movement in terms of Will.
"From our point of view, we are just looking forward to watching him continue to play for Derby County."
