Sunderland have recalled midfielder Billy Knott from his loan spell with Wycombe.

The 21-year-old had scored twice in 23 appearances since arriving at the end of August but his loan stay, which was set to expire on January 29, has been cut short.

"The club would like to thank Billy for his efforts during his time with the Wanderers and wish him every success for the future," a statement read.
