Leeds have issued a statement denying that they made a bid for Rochdale forward Scott Hogan.

Scott Hogan: No offer made, according to Leeds

The 22-year-old scored 19 goals last season, including one in Dale's shock 2-0 win over Leeds in the FA Cup in January.

But the Elland Road side have poured cold water on reports claiming they had an offer for Hogan rejected.

A statement on Leeds' website read: "The club would like to confirm that no approach has been made for Rochdale's Scott Hogan.

"Recently the media have reported that a bid from United made been rejected by the League One club but there is no truth in these rumours."
