The long-term Tottenham Hotspur target was the subject of a bid from the Premier League outfit in January - but a deal failed to materialise.

Now Napoli are said to be lining up a move for Damiao if, as expected, they sell Edinson Cavani in the summer.

Damiao's representative Vinicius Prates says that the Internacional forward is more than open to the idea of moving to Serie A.

"The Italian championship is a goal for Leandro but he is focusing on having success in Brazil, but anything can happen in June," Prates told TuttoNapoli.

"However, there is not any agreement with European teams," he explained in an interview with the agent site Tuttonapoli.net.

"Internacional refused an offer of 20million euros for Leandro from Tottenham and few European clubs have the capacity to hire him right now.

"But certainly, the Napoli attack is one of the strongest in Europe. It would be a pleasure for him to wear the shirt once worn by Careca."
