Ghoulam was linked with Fulham, Stoke City and Udinese during the January transfer window and has continued to impress at St Etienne.

The 22-year-old won his first cap for Algeria on Tuesday in a World Cup qualifier against Benin and he was delighted to receive international recognition.

The left-back also believes that, if he can keep his place in the Algeria squad, he will attract further interest from clubs.

"I am very happy with my first cap for the national team," Ghoulam told Sky Sports.

"I would like to congratulate the team. I am happy with my performance, my first cap, my first assist.

"There is interest from the Premier League and I welcome that. It means I am doing well with my club.

"If I can add the level of playing well with a national team, more clubs will be interested."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
