Celtic have been keeping tabs on 24-year-old for a number of months and now they have brought him to Scotland.

They have confirmed that he will spend the next week at their Lennoxtown training base.

The Jubilo Iwata player, who has two international caps to his name, is rated highly by the Hoops' coaching staff and manager Neil Lennon is keen to check him out first-hand.

"We're looking to bring him over to take a look at him," Lennon said earlier in the month.

"John Park (head scout) has watched him a couple of times and we've seen some footage.

"However, it's always good to see him up against the rest of the players and how he copes with it."

The versatile player was a special guest at Celtic Park to watch the team's 1-0 win over Hibernian on Saturday.

"He can play left side or off the striker. He looks okay but we'll not have a real idea until we've seen him over here," Lennon added.

"I don't think there would be any money involved - he's a free."
