Peterborough goalkeeper Bobby Olejnik won manager Darren Ferguson's praise following the club's first goalless draw for a staggering 172 matches.
Olejnik produced two stunning saves as Posh added another point to their survival battle in a London Road stalemate - resulting in a first 0-0 draw since a clash at Ipswich in December 2009.
Olejnik brilliantly kept out Frank Nouble in the first half before producing an even better stop to claw out a David McGoldrick header in the second period - contributions which earned rave reviews from his own boss, Darren Ferguson, and opposite number Mick McCarthy.
For Posh, Olejnik's brilliance was not matched at the other end as substitute Tyrone Barnet and Lee Tomlin squandered glorious late chances to snatch victory.
Ferguson said: "Bobby has produced two brilliant saves. They were both massive moments in the game as we couldn't afford to fall behind.
"The first one was excellent but the second was something else. I felt sure it was a goal all the way, but Bobby threw himself to his left and got a great hand on it.
"The clean sheet is the positive I take out of the game but we were not clinical enough for the second successive match.
"You have to take chances in tight games. We had them but we couldn't put them away.
"I just wish one of them had fallen to Dwight Gayle because he is the best finisher in the club, but at least it is another point gained.
"If we can win at Leeds on Tuesday night, we'll be out of the bottom three and that would be happy days."
The result leaves McCarthy's men four points and two places clear of the drop zone.
While he was gracious enough to acknowledge Olejnik's effort, he also felt his side might have snuck a victory with the aid of the officials.
"How we haven't got a penalty is beyond me," he said.
"I'm not one for wearing rose-tinted glasses but there was a clear handball in the box and the referee has given nothing.
"We played well enough to win the game but we didn't put the ball in the net. The lack of goals is obviously a concern and it is something we work on every single day in training.
"But we would have scored twice had it not been for two fabulous saves. Peterborough's keeper has earned them their point.
"It's not a bad point for us either. It keeps us ticking over and keeps Peterborough below us."
