Striker Remy, a summer loan signing from QPR, makes his maiden start for the Magpies and midfielder Cabay returns to the first XI after his proposed move to Arsenal failed to materialise, with the pair replacing Shola Ameobi and Sylvain Marveaux in the only changes from the 1-0 win over Fulham. For Villa, the sole adjustment from the 1-0 loss to Liverpool sees Karim El Ahmadi come in for Leandro Bacuna in midfield. Antonio Luna has been passed fit to play in defence and transfer deadline day signing Libor Kozak is named as a substitute. Both sides were unexpectedly involved in a relegation battle last season and have had tough starts to the new campaign, but there have also been signs of encouragement. Villa kicked off with a 3-1 win at Arsenal before being edged out by Chelsea and Liverpool, and will be raring to go after a three-week rest. Newcastle, meanwhile, ended their wait for a first league goal of the season last time out as Hatem Ben Arfa's strike sealed victory over Fulham and catapulted them into mid-table.Aston Villa: Guzan, Lowton, Vlaar, Okore, Luna, Westwood, El Ahmadi, Delph, Agbonlahor, Benteke, Weimann. ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

I

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
