Leeds won 3-0 at Brighton to extend their lead at the top of League One to six points, while Huddersfield are third after beating Hartlepool 2-1.

Robert Snodgrass caught stand-in Brighton goalkeeper Graeme Smith slightly out of position with an in-swinging left-foot shot from 20 yards in the 27th minute.

Leading scorer Jermaine Beckford then notched his 13th of the season two minutes before the break before Neil Kilkenny sealed Leeds' comfortable win in the last minute.

Gary Liddle had headed Hartlepool in front at Huddersfield, before an own-goal from Peter Hartley (56) levelled matters, with Robbie Williams (66) smashing in the winner as the Terriers moved up to third in the table on the back of a fourth successive league win.

Charlton remain in second place after they overcame the first-half sending-off of defender Sam Sodje to draw 1-1 at Yeovil.

Jonathan Obika had put the hosts ahead just before the break, but the Addicks secured a point when substitute Akpo Sodje, Sam's brother, smashed in a long-range effort after 56 minutes.

Colchester, meanwhile, could not hold on to a 2-0 lead at Oldham, where they had Marc Tierney sent off.

Colchester, who have lost just once in the league under manager Aidy Boothroyd, went ahead through David Fox (12) and were in control when Kayode Odejayi (50) doubled their lead at the start of the second half.

However, the match turned when Tierney was dismissed for a second yellow-card offence, and Chris Taylor (63) netted from the spot after being brought down by Fox, before Ryan Brooke headed in an equaliser two minutes from time. Colchester dropped to fourth place as a result.

There were also four goals at St Mary's, where fifth-placed Norwich twice fought back against Southampton for a 2-2 draw.

Adam Lallana (11) put the hosts ahead, before the Canaries levelled through Wes Hoolahan (54) at the start of the second half after his penalty had been saved by Kelvin Davis.

David Connolly (65) smashed in a long-range strike to put the Saints - who have battled back from a 10-point deduction - ahead again. However, Stephen Hughes (75) secured a share of the spoils for Paul Lambert's men, who have now lost just once in their last 10 league games.

Bristol Rovers remain just outside the top six after they beat Gillingham 2-1, thanks to a late penalty from Jeff Hughes.

Chris Lines put the home side ahead on 17 minutes, but Andy Barcham levelled before the break.

However, Rovers won it when Hughes converted from the spot in the 81st minute after a handball from Matt Fry.

Struggling Wycombe got a much-needed win as they won 2-0 at Millwall - their first victory in the league since August 29.

Chris Westwood (56) and Kevin Betsy (72) were on target for the Chairboys, who move off the bottom, replaced by Tranmere who were 2-1 losers at Leyton Orient, with Scott McGleish netting twice.

Brentford and Walsall drew 1-1 at Griffin Park, while Charlie Austin's third-minute goal proved enough to give Swindon a 1-0 victory at Carlisle.

Two stoppage-time goals for Exeter secured a 3-1 away win over Stockport, Adam Stansfield and Richard Logan netting after a free-kick from Michael Rose looked to have earned the hosts a draw.
