The former Bordeaux coach guided France to the quarter-finals of Euro 2012 where a limp display saw them go out 2-0 to Spain.
Reports claim there has been a parting of the ways between Blanc and the French Football Federation (FFF), although as yet there has been no official confirmation.
The 46-year-old took over from Raymond Domenech after France's miserable campaign at the World Cup in 2010, but it appears he will not renew his contract after meeting with the FFF.
Didier Deschamps would be favourite to replace him after signalling his intention to leave Marseille.
